BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10
The call to provide for the needy is found throughout the Bible (e.g., Matthew 25:34-40, 1 John 3:17-18, 2 Corinthians 9:7). The Benevolence Ministry is the primary means through which ABBC offers support and assistance to church members who are going through a financially difficult time. Help is available in various forms: providing meals to the sick and elderly, as well as aid in locating housing, food, clothes, and utilities. Requests from non-members are considered on a case-by-case basis.
As members of the Benevolence Committee, we exercise our responsibilities in accordance with the love of God, sound judgment, and good stewardship as indicated in the Word of God. If a need is outside the scope of our committee, we carefully review the application for assistance and make a recommendation to the Pastor and deacon board.
